Karl Jenkins’ The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace is a compelling modern masterpiece that journeys from the horrors of war to the hope of reconciliation, blending stirring melodies, dramatic rhythms, and texts from diverse cultures and faiths.
Complementing it is Gabriel Fauré’s sublime Requiem, renowned for its warmth, serenity, and luminous beauty. Rather than dwelling on fear and judgment, Fauré’s timeless work offers comfort, peace, and quiet reflection through some of the most exquisite choral writing ever composed. Together, these contrasting masterpieces create an inspiring musical experience that speaks to the resilience of the human spirit and the enduring longing for peace.
“And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed”
